Welcome Clara Rose!

Our hearts are overflowing with joy and thankfulness as we welcome our newest addition, Clara Rose!

It took us a few days to decide on her name. When she was born we felt she looked nothing like the other names we had picked as options for her.... Scarlet, Suri, Isla, Macie...

Clara means "bright, shining" which certainly defines her crystal clear eyes which already seem to exude wisdom and clarity. She is also very peaceful and contented. We feel so blessed! The middle name "Rose" is simply because of her delicate beauty. Both my mom, my mother-in-law and I confirmed that she reminds us of a little rosebud. So, ROSE it is!

Clara was born last Tuesday, September 1 at 11:48 am after a smooth labor and delivery! She wanted to be a September baby! Weighing in at a tiny 7 lbs 10 oz (well tiny to me, since Mia was 8 lbs 13 oz). She is more precious and beautiful than we could ever imagine and we are so in love! She is resembling Mia more and more every day, though at birth we all thought she had her own distinctive looks... a funny crease in her left ear, a darling dimple in her left cheek, slightly less and lighter hair than Mia.... a little less chunky, though plenty of padding!

Already pondering life...

Proud Daddy
Just born... still gooey and fresh

Happy mommy to finally meet my little angel!

Proud Big Sister.... saying, "where's my baby?"

Cute as she is, she still has lungs

Very alert at only 1 hour old

Tiny fingers, so sweet!

Snuggling with daddy in the morning

And mommy...

Leaving the hospital at 24 hours old

Car ride home

First bath at home with big sister!

Fed and content.
Wide awake... even when awake she is so quiet!

Snuggle time with big sister!

We are all doing great at home. We have had many visitors to keep us company and share in our excitement. Last night Clara blessed us by only waking once in the night... she slept 6 hours straight! I am trying to consider it a random blessing, we will see how she sleeps as time goes on! Mia seems to be adjusting well thus far. She is still in the excited phase and is going about her business as usual (though she asks to hold Clara A LOT).

Thanks again to you all for your prayers through this journey!
We are overflowing with gratitude.

She is so adorable! Congratulations on a smooth delivery - a whole pound lighter! She must have just slipped out. :) What a blessing. Mia looks like she is going to be a great big sister. Take Care - if you are ever in Ballard (after 7pm) do stop by and see us on nights. Or (more likely) if you are up in the middle of the night and want to chat give us a call on the unit 781-6344.
